Miss Opal nominated for Nobel Peace Prize.
Ms. Opal Lee is a native Texan who has worked for over 40 years to commemorate Juneteenth as a national holiday and has fought to ensure equality for all Americans. On 31st January 2022, she was nominated for the 22 Nobel Peace Price based on a letter that was sent to the committee by Congressman Veasey (TX-33) and 33 Members of Congress.
